Everything discussed within therapy sessions is treated as confidential.
Confidentiality may only be broken in exceptional circumstances, such as where there is a serious risk to your safety or the safety of others, or where required by law (e.g. court order). Wherever possible, I would aim to discuss this with you first.
As a BABCP-accredited therapist, I adhere to their ethical framework and professional standards.
Supervision
As part of my professional requirements, I attend regular clinical supervision. Any information shared is anonymised and does not include identifying details.
How your data is stored
Your data is stored securely using appropriate safeguards, including:
Password-protected and encrypted systems
Secure email systems
Limited access to data on a need-to-know basis
Session notes are:
Written briefly during or after sessions
Stored securely in electronic format
Retained for 7 years in line with professional requirements
Handwritten notes are securely destroyed

Incapacity arrangements
In the unlikely event that I am unable to continue my practice (e.g. due to illness), a designated professional may contact you. They will only have access to your contact details and not your clinical records.
How long your data is kept
Your personal data is retained for 7 years after our last contact, after which it is securely deleted.
